Thumbs down Nifty little Backup/Sybc program

After my notebook HD crashed on me, I decided that I needed to start backing up my data on a scheduled basis rather than "when I took the time" cause I hardly ever did

Anyhow, I found this little utility program named SyncBackupSE that I'm loving. It's $25 bucks and with that you can load it on up to 5 machines. What's cool about it to me is that it will sync data to and from my network stores from my notebook and workstation. No more wondering whether I have the lates code, all I have to do is sync.

The other cool part is that it has built in support to backup/sync to a FTP server allowing for off-site backups. I've ran it now for only a couple weeks, but so far, I'm lovin' it.

There is also a freeware version that doesn't have all the bells and whistles too.

Nice find Worm! We currently recommend SecondCopy to our customers as a backup solution, but I have emailed our technical staff internally to this software as it seems to have more options and comes highly recommended.

We will be evaluating this software to see how it compares to SecondCopy.

Free is also nice, with a great feature set as well.

    Thanks for the link!

Another I started out using that is nice too, but I opted for SyncBack because of the extra features was Cobian. It too is freeware and did the job, but wouldn't do a "smart sync". It simply copies all files no matter whether they've changed or not.

Coooool. Some of the new external hard drives include software to do this too. My iomega drive came with a sync suite but I've just been doing it manually. The most I can lose at any given time is a day's work, which is reasonably reasonable for what I do...
