Suggestion: add a tiny dead zone in the middle, so there is a bit of space where you can move keep the mouse and not have the images scroll...either that, or slow the scroll speed even closer to 0 near the middle.

    Thanks for the sugestion Lorne.

I put a dead space of 30px left/right from dead center.

It is kinda messy, did not have time to edit it that much.

I liked it without the dead spot, but then again I'm an adrenaline junkie...

Ouch! You got me... I'm bleeding, doubled over... Reduced to an Avril Lavigne song. AVRIL LAVIGNE! Arrrgggghhhhh...

I probably had that coming but did you have to take the jugular like that? The ultimate dis... Avril Lavigne, sheesh... I'll never be the same again. Such a stinging slap...

Re: Just made a generic Flash Photo Scroller

This is slightly off the subject, but I am having trouble emailing my .swf files to my clients for their review. After their 'OK' I will include them in my AMS project. When I send an attached .swf file no one is able to open the file. I regularly send all types of attachments (doc/pub/jpg/mpg/psd/etc) without any difficulty. I am just doing a file attach and inputing the name of the file.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe try zipping it first. (Could be that their email client or firewall software is set up to reject .swf files.)

Do they have someting to open your .swf file? If they don't have the shockwave player or Flash installed. They'll get an error. The good thing about this program is you can script it to install the appropiate player/program for them. You may want to point to the macromedia website for them to download. Include a html file or a .txt file Too bad you couldn't send a demo disk and it would solve your problems.....

Thanks Guys! In checking with the clients at Kimball Technologies, their IT dept told me that their firewall is set to block many different types of files: including .swf. While email is faster, I guess that the demo disk is the only realistic way to go. Thanks for the help!

No, Lorne's solution will still work and is more likely the source of your hassle. If the firewall was blocking it they wouldn't even be receiving your emails at all. If they are receiving them but the attached files simply don't work then Lorne is propbably right on the money. Just zip them, no firewall is set to block zip files unless the sysop is some kind of nihilist.

If you want to make 100% sure they can view them then simply publish them as projectors from Flash, this works for Mac or PC and is very simple. Then just zip the rtesulting .exe and send it, that will work 100% of the time.

Final solution, publish your .swf to the web and then send them a link.

It worked! Creating the projector file and then zipping it worked 'like a charm'. Thanks again guys -- you're the best.
