    Script Editor Pane?

I grew to like having the Script Editor located right below my page view, so I could click on each object, and immediately see the script associated with it. It is especially nice when you have a bunch of similar, but slightly different, button scripts.

But I don't see a pane for the Script Editor. There is the Script Explorer, but I don't like it nearly as much as the Script Editor. Can I get the Script Editor pane back?

    Oops Agreed

    I agree

I really miss it on working with prjoects with a lot of scripting on objects on the same page or even multiple pages...

It would be nice to at least have the option to use it.

Have you tried out the new Project Explorer pane? That will visually show you which objects have script on them. Additionally, the Script Explorer lets you work on multiple object scripts at the same time, so you can truly see things side-by-side. We were forced to remove the old pane for technical reasons.

    Yes I have

I have tried the script explore Ted

And I think it is wonderful for large scripting projects where you have to remember functions and varialbles from other pages or objects

But for the "day to day running" if you can call it so, the scripting pane was got it was easy and very userfriendly.

Not the the script explore isent but it is nice 1. to have a visual Idea of your scripts implecations.

Now the script explore is a seperat tool and in that it has complete seperatet the design stage from the scripting stage.

The fact of the matter is that for a designer as me, and I am absolutely not a programmer, I still amase my self when performing super complicated programming things with ease (thanks to AMS) but what have alwais helped me with it was the fact that I could keep a designers overview on things while doing it. With the script explore it all comes down to your abillity as a programmer (to do things more complicated then the standerd actions)
And If you are a programmer this is a perfect tool to add to the fuctionallety of AMS to make it even more apperling to that sort of people.

I for one would have liked the choice to use the scripting pane.

cheers for an otherwise brilliant upgrade I love all the nevly add functionallety (including the script explore).

Ah, this was a good reason to push your suggestions/recommendations... loud and proud in the beta stages (or more for those who may have once)?

Actually this was brought up during beta but leaving it in was simply not an option from a technical standpoint within the new system. So probably it will not be coming back, but I agree that it was great...

Well I mean bear in mind that I can't really speak to the technical aspects, and I certainly wasn't disparaging anything. I was mainly just pointing out that it was definitely brought up during beta. The new system is great, all us fans of the old script editor will adjust to it soon enough.

It was posted at one point what we thought about that area and if my memory serves me right, this early morning, maybe one or two people came back saying they used it at all. I wonder if more would have stepped up and helped in the beta (that wanted that option and stated such) that it would have survived.

That's the point I was trying to convey.

I don't think it would have. I asked Brett personally and it was no dice, but who knows?

In May there was a poll about the script pane (http://www.indigorose.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11404). 65% answered “I never use it”/” I didn't even know it existed”). (Only 38 voters!) I’m not surprised it was taken out; especially when it was necessary to be able to introduce the script explorer.

Personally I occasionally used the script pane. I think it’s only a working habit and not a great issue. I’m very pleased with the script explorer and Tigg’s “IR Product Code Viewer”. I always find a solution to the actual task.

Lightbulb Yes but you cant doc the script explore

If you could dog the script explore in the workspace it could work.
But Tweeking scripts with the script explore is a Royal Pain in the but...

Also because it dosent remember what you were doing last time it was open.
