Sample: Space Challenge Video Game

Here is something I made this afternoon. It is a game made with AutoPlay Media Studio 6.0.

There are some bugs to be fixed and more features that could be added. But here it is.

I’d be pretty proud of myself if I could manage to do that in a month. I actually thought about trying to code something like this, just last week. I worked on my version for an afternoon too, before I realized how far over my head I was.

Thank you very much for sharing this with us. I’m going to study your code, and hopefully I’ll be smart enough to tweak it a little.

If I do manage to get my little idea done, I’ll gladly share it for free, with as many others as I can, however I wouldn’t think about sharing it in this forum. My idea is a politically motivated one, which would surely offend a large number of people.

I added some cheat codes like someone else suggested. Read the text file, which tells you what the cheats are.

I made a few bug fixes. I also moved the scores from the menu bar to a paragraph object in the top right corner. I also renamed a few cheats.

Cheats:

repairdroidonboard- This cheat name came from Star Wars. Its sort of like having a droid that automatically repairs your ship so it can never be defeated. This cheat makes your ship invincible and have unlimited lives.
monopoly- Gives you bonus points
whiteflag- Surrenders one life for super bonus points. Doesn't work with the invincibility cheat.
toolbox- You get an extra life
onstrike- You get 500 points per enemy defeated. However their is a 1000 point penalty if you lose a life. Even if you have invincibility.

There is a problem of the keyboard delay when you move your ship.
This could be solved using Worm's timer plugin and System.IsKeyDown action.
