AVI and MPEG

I have an MPEG1 video playing with a person giving a "speech". I created an AVI with just text that changes according to what the person is saying. When I create the AVI it is synched perfectly. They both automatically start playing when the page is opened. The problem is the AVI is playing slower than the MPEG. The timing is off and progressivly slower as they play.

Anyone tried this before? Have you had this problem?

Can o' worms....

Give us some more specifics about your video files. How long are they? How big are they (pixels and MBs)? What codec in AVI are you using? Are you running this project from your local hard drive? What software are you using to create your movies? Are you making the movies? What are the FPS rates for both movies?
