    Google in violation in Canada?

"From The Globe&Mail: Could it be possible that Canada will make Google or any other Internet search and archiving engines illegal? Bill C-60, which amends the Copyright Act and received its first reading in the House of Commons on June 20, suggests it could be illegal for anyone to provide copyrighted information through "information-location tools," which includes search engines." (source: slashdot(.)org

I put this forth just recently... as an afterthought.

Well I doubt it'll come to that but then again, whatever happens, *never* underestimate the ability of Canadian policy makers to do the wrong thing. Expect some terrible decisions, but also expect that Google.ca isn't going anywhere. I can literally guarantee it. Our government is extremely pro-business and there's absolutely no chance whatsoever of them doing anything to impede the operation of Google.ca.

Right in my own county (not country for this example) we have corruption as well. All this corruption is very disheartening. *sarcasm on* what a great way to teach young folks "how govt. works" *sarcasm off*

*shakes head... flips DVD player on to watch the animated Star Wars - Clone Wars*

A philosopher I once read, I think his name was Gurdief, said that there are only two things which motivate all human action, greed and lust. Agree or disagree but the gist is that as long as a few guys control all the dough, someone's going to get screwed. Period.

I've only met two or three people in my life who I believe could/would truly run this country in a good way, one being the CEO of IR in fact, but those people have zero interest in this cashed out husk of a system. Those people have zero interest in the whole concept of "Canada" or "Canadianna". They have more exciting things on the boil, so I don't blame them one bit frankly. Why waste your brilliance lying down with this lot when there's a zillion funner options open to you?
