    AMS5 Code & Example Library.

    Hello everybody

I've been thinking to release a DVD with ams5 code (sort library) for the youngest ams generation. Lots of code, all kinds of examples to get the young ams fellows started. It would be something like MSDN Library but now for the ams5. Wondering what the (young) ams fellows think for a thing (DVD) like that. The title would be something like this AMS5 Code & Example Library.
If interested, ok, if not, then i will know it.

    That was it...for now.

I don't think I'd be considered as the "younger generation", but I'd love that. Having source code examples available to browse though would be awesome. You can always come to the forums and search, but to have a library on CD/DVD would be quite handy, for the young and the old

I'm sure i'd wear out a CD like that. I'm sure it would ease the wear-and-tear on Worm's brain.

ps. Worm your HideTaskbar DLL sure came in handy tonight.

May be i didn't use the proper term (youngest ams generation). May be i had to use the newest ams generation term. Anyway what i mean is the ams beginners. I see them everyday comming in this forum looking for answers and solutions. And it is so that i have a lot of sample code, examples, projects that i have created from time to time. So i thought a DVD collection like this would come handy for that category of users (beginners). But you worm are the PRO here. Me and many other like me have always something to learn from you.
Anyway, nice to hear your opinion...

We're all for any great idea! As more people put their minds and creative efforts behind this, everybody benefits.

One thing to keep in mind, if anyone is looking for a great tutorial series, they should check out the Speedy Training CD's at http://www.speedytraining.com. They cover beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of using AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0.

A good place to start. I also advise the new ams5 users to start it from there. In the very beginning i have seen some of Corey's videos. Very handy, well explained. Good job Corey. It was Corey also in the very beginning who explained to me in this forum some of the ams5 concepts, terms. But i do not forget the help of the others, like Worm, Tigg, Intrigued etc etc....But i still belive that a ams source code CD/DVD would be very handy for the ams beginners. I belive that Corey as well can deliver in short time such a CD/DVD (my opinion). For the ir dev team i have also an advise: do not forget the plugins. More plugins more options for us ams users. Lots of ideas in my head but...

    Just some thoughts.......

Hee, yeah. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, so many ideas, so little time. I know the feeling. I'll definitely be adding a bunch more new stuff soon. I'm buying a vidcam and some lights this week so we'll be adding a bunch of live video now too. Not just me, but also from the developers at head office. Think, "Fireside chat with Brett Kapilik". And, "Lorne on Golf". But seriously, the new videos should fill a gap in this area. I'm very excited about it.

First video should hit the site in a few weeks.

    Corey,
Don't forget online "meet the press" type of casting.
A definite, setup in advance, time for us users to meet online with an IR representative and discuss a topic, share ideas etc...
I am doing something similar at my College with students and lecturers, using Windows Media Encoder and a Media Server Service...works very smoothly.
