Can't play MOV videos from my system.

I have videos taken with a Kodak easy share camera that I want to use in AutoPlay 5.0. The extension is .MOV but it will not work. Any Idea what I may be doing wrong? The vedios play on the computer when opened by the kodak program, but when I save them on Desktop and try to open them the video screen comes up black.

You can't play quicktime movies directly in AMS5.

    From the help file:
AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0 does not have a QuickTime object. To play a QuickTime movie on a user's computer, the user must have a program capable of opening the movie (i.e. Apple QuickTime).

Tmpg Encoder is one program you can use.
    VirtualDub is another.
If you have quicktime Pro, you can save a .mov video to another format like AVI or Mpeg.
AMS can play anything that windows media player can, AVi's of all kind,
provided you have the right codec installed, Mpeg1, wmv, to name a few.

    Good luck

You could embed the QT file in an HTML page. Then, use the web object, and that would work inside AMS.

Yeah, but understand that all the end users would still have to have the QT plugin. On that note, you could do a dependency check.

But, like Yossi said, it's fairly easy to convert those mov files to mpg or wmv - I do it all the time, same camera
