ini file

I am having trouble with CD auto playing on some PC's. It work perfectly on some and then does not on others.

Your Acrobat trouble shooting document says to make sure that these files are on CD.
autorun.inf
autorun.exe
autorun.ini

I do not seem to be able to find the ini file anywhere. Could this be the problem. If so where is the ini file? Is it created by Autoplay?

Re: ini file

If you find that some systems are not starting your menu automatically, it is possible that the autorun feature has been turned off for that system. Check out Appendix B of the AutoPlay Menu Studio 2.0 User's Guide for a full troubleshooting guide.

Re: ini file

One other note... the Troubleshooting document on the Web site is wrong. As stated in the actual AMS documentation:

"...make sure all of the following files are present:

autorun.inf
autorun.exe
autorun.apm
DATA subdirectory..."

It should be "autorun.apm", not "autorun.ini". We will correct this error in the Web site docs.

Re: ini file

I have checked to verify that all of the files are on the CD.....
These are present
autorun.inf
autorun.exe
autorun.apm
DATA subdirectory..."

I have also checked the PC that will not run my CD and the autoplay feature is not turned off.

I'm stumped!!

DATA subdirectory..."

Re: ini file

What CD-R format are you burning with? Are you using ISO9660 format or Joliet? If you double-click on the autorun.exe file on that system does the menu itself work?

Re: ini file

I am using Joliet and will switch to ISO9660.

If you click on AUTORUN.EXE the CD does play.

Lightbulb Re: ini file

If you are having trouble with *only* the autorun/autoplay feature on *one* particular system, I would recommend that you follow the troubleshooting guide in the User's Guide Appendix. It covers every conceivable possibility along with solutions in a step by step ordering.
