Slow degradation of text

I've been puzzled by the fact that the text in text menus displayed by AMS start off clear-cut but after a few seconds appear to degrade. The edges of the characters become 'fuzzy'. Has anyone else come across this, and is there a reason (and a solution!) ?

I dont know if this will help IndigoRose for their future releases... but I thought I would offer what happens to me (very similiar).

I have text that I want to be white, and stay white (even when highlighted). When the menu first comes up... it is clean. As soon as the mouse cursor goes over it (when it enables the highlight color right?) it then goes fuzzy.

If you go to another page, and come back... it is fine again until you highlight it.

I know I can just make a graphic for my text, but I thought I would let you know what happened to me... since it seemed to be slightly different cause but same results.

I will try the font setting when I get home.

The likely culprit can be found by in your Windows "Display Properties". If you have installed the Windows "Plus!" pack, you will see a tab labelled "Plus!". There is an option to "Smooth edges of screen fonts". This anti-aliasing feature of Plus! is what is likely causing the "fuzzy" appearance.

We are looking into possible solutions for v3.0. In the meantime, turning this option off will eliminate the problem.

Thanks! That now works fine!
Incidentally, on reviewing the problem, the fonts actually do only degrade after the mouse passes over the text, so this looks like the same problem as reported by SpamMe, and should also be repaired by altering the screen fonts setting as suggested.

It's great when the system works. I had a problem, I followed the path and found an answer!
This text problem, as Ted indicated, is clearly an anti-aliasing one. Mouseover causes the anti-aliasing to be lost from then on and, depending on the font, this results in lumpy, edgy text (actually less "fuzzy" - anti-aliasing is intentional "fuzziness" but the end result is smoother).
In my case it also causes remnants of the highlight colour to be visible around the edges.
It would be good for these things to be addressed in AMS v3.0.
