Overview
Use the DCOM95 dependency module with Setup Factory 7.0 to detect and install Distributed COM support on Windows 95.

Background Information
DCOM95 1.3 extends the support for Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) for Microsoft Windows 95. The DCOM wire protocol transparently provides support for reliable, secure, and efficient communication between COM components such as ActiveX controls, scripts, and Java applets residing on different machines in a LAN, a WAN, or on the Internet. With DCOM, your application can be distributed across locations that make the most sense to you and to the application.

Installation Instructions
To make the DCOM95 dependency module available in your Setup Factory 7.0 projects, follow the steps below:

1. Close Setup Factory 7.0, if it is running.
2. Browse to the folder where Setup Factory 7.0 is installed on your system. By default it is C:\Program Files\Setup Factory 7.0.
3. Open the folder called Dependencies.
4. Unzip the contents of dcom95.zip (see bottom of article) into the dependencies folder.
5. Create a subfolder of Dependencies and name it dcom95.
6. Download the Platform SDK Redistributable for DCOM95 (DC95Inst.EXE) into a temporary directory.
7. Run the file DC95Inst.EXE and extract its contents temporarily.
8. Copy the file DCom95.Exe from the x86 folder that was extracted in the previous step into the dcom95 subfolder of Dependencies.
9. Restart Setup Factory 7.0.

To use your new dependency module, select Resources > Dependencies from the main menu and click the Add button. DCOM95 should now be visible in the list of available modules.
