Does anyone have any good links for complete beginners learning VC++/Visual Studio?

Calling all cars. Does anyone have any good links for complete beginners learning VC++/Visual Studio? The goal here is just to learn enough to build some basic plug-ins for AutoPlay Media Studio.

Here are a few to start with:

http://www.codeproject.com - Lots of various articles. Sort of one of those learn by looking at others' code sites. I visit this one daily. Specifically, check out the Beginners section.

My DLL creation article on Icy North. - Since plugins are just fancy DLLs, this is a good one to get you going. You could even start by making just DLLs that expose functions to be called by the DLL.CallFunction action in AMS50 (or 4.0).

http://www.codeguru.com - Similar to CodeProject. Not my favorite, but not bad.

DevCentral - I just found it through a Google search but it looks like it has some good stuff.

http://www.freeprogrammingresources.com/visualcpp.html - A page of VC++ tutorial and learning links.

Just here on the forum too. There are a bunch of good C++ programmers here that would be glad to help.

PlanetSourceCode is another code dumping ground too.

A great place is ExpertsExchange, not only for code questions, but a wide array of computer related topics. This site has saved me many a times.

Also, don't forget the SDK. The examples in it are a great learning arena.

Excellent links. Thanks. I'll start spending an hour per day mulling them through. Visual Studio is great. I figured out how to build an WIn32 app with full menus and seperate dialogs linked to all the menu items in like 5 minutes. Very cool. Don't worry, I'll ask for help as I need it. I think I'll work on getting used to the GUI elements and how to use them first. You know me, once/if I get this thing sussed we'll have more plug-ins than you can shake a stick at.

Well, not really. I just know a lot about certain aspects of programming like GUI, class design, etc. Basically the stuff I need to get my job done. There are times when I pick up a copy of Dr. Dobbs Journal, get half way through an article and am like, "what the heck is this about?" I am more of a pragmatic programmer - I know enough to make almost any Windows application from a GUI and data structure standpoint. That is what I get paid to do and is what I enjoy. There are guys around (like Lorne) who's low-level knowledge of computers and coding put me to absolute shame.

For my part I am mainly put to shame by Lorne's choice of shoes. It just seems like I can never get one step ahead of him. I wear Maglis, and he curveballs me by showing up in penny loafers, so I wear penny loafers and he shows up in vintage Vans. I can't win. To a lesser secondary degree, I admit also being shamed by his knowledge of low-level stuff.
