Embedding Question
I have a program that runs on PCs that are intermittently connected to the Internet. It may be connected for only minutes a week and I want to make sure that it takes advantage of that opportunity to check for updates.
Here's my question: If I use ShellExecute to launch the TU client silently, is there a way to determine if it successfully reached the update server, even if no update was required? Does the client update any registry variables with a "results of last run" kind of thing? If not, is there an action I can put in the server file that will make the client update a registry value even if it is at the latest version? I am using Visual Patch for updates. Thanks in advance.
