Yes, I think an XML plug-in will be forthcoming at some point, no firm date to cite though.

That is definitely one that we are looking at. Technically, a simple XML parser could be written in AMS50's Lua scripting using the string functions. But that is definitely one we are looking at for a plugin.

XML is cool.
![]() What kind of features/abilities would you like an XML plugin to have? What kind of things would you use it for -- and what would make it easier for you to do those things? Not promising anything, of course... ...but feel free to give us your picture of a "perfect" XML plugin.

That's a good idea Lorne, we should start a thread or a suggestion area for that actually. It would certainly ensure the relevance of all our plug-ins and their functions. I can't overemphasize how good an idea I think that is, I know with many apps such as Photoshop 90% of the available plug-ins are completely useless to 90% of people.

Our Proprietary Software, allows exporting the Database to an XML file. Using the futur AMS5 XML Plugin, i'd like to be able to gather specific items into the XML, such as Object names (called "SystemName" and "UserName" in our case) and having the ability to replace them by new ones. I attached an XML file for you to look at. (I am using XML Notepad from Microsoft to view the content of the file.) I think that the best thing to do with the plugin, is having it reading the XML File And break it into AMS5 "TABLES". Then i twould be easy to reference each element and values for easy replacement.
Does it make any sens to you guys? Discussion is open!

Hi Martin. You can post .zip files, so one good way is just to use winzip on your files/folders for uploading to the forum.

XML Returned from online database.
I've been working on a simple front end piece that can post info to our webserver, and accepts fully quailified XML back as a response. I'd like to be able to add or modify AMS objects this way.
I may be mistaken, but didn't AMS 4 have the ability to do something like this built in? |

Sounds cool. Not that I know of, unless I am misunderstanding the question.
