Grin Dynamic Server File Location

I have a need to make the server file location dynamic. (I will not know the location until after other components are installed on site) Is there a way to accomplish this? I tried creating and using variables (i.e. http://%myserver%/update/update.uif)
but that didn't work. Is this possible?

Re: Dynamic Server File Location

Never mind. It helps to have the update.uif file in the correct location. Sorry.

Hi longe,

I know this is an old post, but I was browsing through these forums and came upon this thread. I would be interested in knowing how you did this. I could have a use for it.

If you or a moderator could explain how this can be done I would greatly appreciate it.

Tek,

I think that this user was getting at the fact that you can have variables in the path to the .uif file in the Client Config utility. So for example you can add a variable in the clients variable tab that reads a value from the registry for example that you can then use in your server file path.

I think that is what this user was referring to.
