Drivers ... I need drivers! :)

Since Lorne has so much free time on his hands [and knowing his past experience writing drivers], I figured I'd put in a request to him to write some drivers for me [and the world too, actually] ... in the shape Speedstream3060 xDSL for PPPoE / PPPoA for Linux [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif[/img]

Hopefully, that'll be done by 10:00 ... just in time for his 'morning break' after which, he can crack on with some Voodoo5 drivers for XP [that actually support OpenGL coz the XP version doesnt!]. Then maybe I could find a use for my voodoo5 that's sitting there collecting dust [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Weird...you're actually not the first person to ask me for Speedstream drivers. Unless you also go by the name "bigmoo" in IRC?

But alas, no can do...I've written drivers without manufacturer support before (*cough* reverse engineering *cough*) and it's not something I would even remotely consider doing for free. [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif[/img]

I almost started working on XP drivers for my CH Products HOTAS setup...but CH refused to give me any source code and I decided it was easier to just keep dual booting into 98. Besides, some day I might actually convince Michelle to let me buy a Thrustmaster Cougar... [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif[/img] Yeah, right.

Don't let the Voodoo5 collect dust, though...just dual boot into 98.

XOSL (www.xosl.org) absolutely rocks for dual booting. Set up a tiny little logical partition (10 MB or so, I made it 40 MB for kicks) at the slow end of your boot drive for XOSL and use it to show/hide partitions at will. Having 98 installed is great for those games that don't play so well in XP (like NOLF, which I've finally got around to playing...).
