Format of Folder names

I know the files to be burned to a CD should be in 8.3 format to meet maximum compatibility with other CD Drives, but what about the folder name they will be installed to? Do folder names also need to meet the 8.3 format?

Yes, the folder names should also be kept to the 8.3 format.
