SUF-6 "Performing Setup Actions" screen

Is there any control over the headings or content of the "Performing Setup Actions" screen. I'm referring to the first screen appearing after the "Setup Factory" logo.

If affirmative, kindly advise where the control is located.

If not, it would be a big plus to be able to customize this screen. In particular, I do not care for the terminology used and would like the ability to change it.

It has taken a couple days to get accustomed to the the new version, but I am beginning to really like it. Nice work.

Re: SUF-6 "Performing Setup Actions" screen

You can go to General Design, Languages tab and edit the properties of a language. The various "performing setup actions" screen messages are under Progress.

However! It appears that this is not specific to the setup; editing these messages seems to affect every setup that you build in that language.

It would be nice to be able to alter the "performing setup" screen for just one project. Also, it seems misleading to put the capability of editing a language for all setups in what I take for a project-specific function.

The default language files are located in #SUFDIR#\Languages. What hinders you from copying that subdirectory into your projects path to create project-specific language resources?

Re: SUF-6 "Performing Setup Actions" screen

Hi,

Pit is right; you could create different languages for each setup.

For example, if you have two products (ProductA and ProductB) and you only use the English language (English.lng) then you could create two new language files: "EnglishProductA.lng" and "EnglishProductB.lng" and use them respectively.

The real problem, SpaceStationAlpha, is that the text for the Progress screen is read from the language files, which is necessary for multilingual installations. This is why changing the text for one installation will change it for all.

Cool Re: SUF-6 "Performing Setup Actions" screen

Mark,

Honestly, I don't think I ever would have found the controls for the "Setup Actions" screen without guidance. Could that screen as well as the uninstall screens have been controlled in the "Screens" section? If not, they have been placed in a very sceure location.

Re: SUF-6 "Performing Setup Actions" screen

How about a way to remove the setup actions screen entirely? Is there one?

Re: SUF-6 "Performing Setup Actions" screen

Hi,

In the nest version of Setup Factory (6.0.0.3) there will be a way to hide the Action Progress Dialog.
