shortcut Icon

I'm having serious trouble in changing the default icon for shortcuts ! the file Myicon.ico that I add to the folder and select as "external icon" is not recognized by setup factory.I've tried all sizes in my icon-editor (iconForge) , 32x32, 16x16, 256 colors or 16 bits but none worked ! What files setup Factory will consider as .ICO files ?

Re: shortcut Icon

Hi,
In order to set a new icon for a shortcut simply include the icon in your project and have it installed to %AppDir%. Then in your shortcut command, check the Use External Icon option and specify %AppDir%\iconfile.ico as the Icon Path.
As far as what types of icons SUF supports, it supports: 32x32 or 16x16 16 bit icons. This being true I am not sure why you icon is not working. Have you followed the above steps? If so get back to me and I will try to help you out further.

Re: shortcut Icon

Yeah, I don't know either.......I followed your steps dozens of times but still have the ugly windows system icon instead of my beautiful icon in 32x32x16b ! To be perfectly true I've tried with 3 different icons and only one made it...So is there an option I forget, like "archiv" or "read only" feature?
Thank you for the rapid reply !

Re: shortcut Icon

Hi,
Have you tried using this icon for a shortcut that is already on your desktop? Simply right click on the shortcut and select PROPERTIES, go to the shortcut tab, and browse for your icon. Does it work when you do that? If it does not, then you icon is incorrect. If it does, get back to me and I will try to figure something else out.

See your point! yes I can browse my icon and the shortcut stay with the icon I choose.
Soo, where does it come from ? Windows 98 ? the compression ?????
I didn't have that kind of problem with SUF 4!!

Thanks
