Version 5 import existing v4 project

AutoPlay version 4 users like myself will be looking for good import capabilities. It seems at the moment that actions in a version 4 project have to re-written in version 5. I can't seem to recall that the upgrade from version 3 had as much code re-writing as this upgrade - mind you that was going back sometime now.

Regards, John

Please read "Importing AutoPlay Media Studio 4 Projects" in the Help file for a full explanation fo why the importer works the way that it does.

One of my back-logged comments/suggestions relevant to the import of AMS4 projects is:

On the import wizard could a window with a quick list of items of non-transferability be provided with hot links to the help index?

Or; a Quality Assurance checklist for the typical items needing manual conversion/attention.

Some of the simplest things like the close application on click are not transfered over and well, I'm sure you have a real list of import nuances that could be disclaimed there with of course a check mark for "do not show this again."

clean up of import has been a bear from my test and having a checklist would help in standardization of quality assurance of updating previous, ongoing projects.
