SUMMARY

This article provides information about the Explore button on the Distribution Folder dialog.

DISCUSSION

In AutoPlay Media Studio 4.0 when you browse for an external reference the Distribution Folder dialog appears. On this dialog you will find the Explore button. The Explore button opens a regular Windows Explorer window as a convenience so you can add files to your distribution folder.

Since you can only select external references located in your distribution folder use the Explore button to add files to your distribution folder. You will not be able to select a file from the Explorer window, instead you will have to copy or move the file into your distribution folder.

To copy a file into your distribution folder, browse for a file in the Explorer windows that comes up when you pressed the Explore button. Once you have found the file that you want, right-click on it, and hold the mouse button down. Drag the mouse cursor onto the Distribution Folder dialog so that the actual distribution folder is highlighted. Now release the right mouse button and a context menu will be displayed. Select "Copy Here" and your file will be copied into the distribution folder.

To move a file into the distribution folder, follow the above instructions but instead of right-clicking on the file, left-click. Alternatively you can follow the instructions for copying a file and select "Move Here" in the context menu.

Tip: If it appears that you have moved/copied a file into the distribution folder but it is not visible, try double-clicking on the actual distribution folder, or press the Refresh button.

Once you have added the file to your distribution folder, select it and press the OK button.
