Newer Keyfile Problem

Running VP v3.0.3.0 or v3.5, when the keyfile that exists in the app folder is newer than the keyfile in the patch, the patch execution becomes unresponsive and does not wite anything to the log. We run the patch in silent mode, so the only way to resolve the problem is to end the task in Task Manager.

If the app folder's keyfile is the same as the patch keyfile, the expected return code of 1240 (software is current) is logged and the patch behaves as expected.

You can try adding some log entries to find out where it's stalling.
My guess is you don't have that keyfile in the patch; so it doesn't know what to do...
When I do "silent" patches, I always start with lots of dialogs so I can be sure it's working as expcted.
You can post your project file to see if ther's something obviously wrong.

It's not a problem with the keyfile missing. The same patch file works fine if the existing keyfile is older or the same as the keyfile in the patch. There is only a problem when the existing keyfile is newer than the patch's keyfile.

When the problem happens, there are no lines written to the patch log. Not even the initial line "Patch started:..."
