flash movie

Is it possible to use a .swf file as the startup video when creating a project? If not, what are the possible movie type files that can be used?

Can .swf files be inserted onto a page as an object?

No, you need AutoPlay Media Studio for this.

Again, not in Autorun MAX!, but certainly possible in AutoPlay Media Studio.
