Loss of disk drive management

After burning a CD and exiting the software, when I go to MY COMPUTER or try to bring up Windows EXPLORER, my system just sits there, looking for my drives.

Any idea what's going on?

What OS are you using? I get this too on my Server 2003.

lost file management control

I'm using Windows XP
