The pole is flawed -- what if you like multiple products?

But --- you can use windows API's to play sound files; the problem will be controlling them.

Agree would be where more pleasantly to use built in not a difficult script (as in AutoPlay Media Studio). Background music in the course of installation it is good, I did also background video. Well kills time!

I find anythiing short of a "tone" to alert you that something happened (ie: playing music) that I did not initiate to be very annoying.... If I were to install an application that played music (and possibly disrupting the current song being played) I would instantly terminate the install and delete it from my system... That's just me -- and I think most of my clients would agree on that.
If you want to do that sort of thing you could easily do it by using AutoIt and "Monitoring" your install - put the autoit exe and sound file in as primer files;then launch on startup --- the autoit script would continue to monitor the running process; when it's done; terminate the music & end the program.

The installer would need to schedule the sound & autoit exe for deletion on reboot....

But I find programs that "play music just because they can" very annoying and unprofessional...

I did it, all works. I do all the same usually hidden application playing extracting music/video. But not about it speech. An essence what to make playing of multimedia as much simple as in AutoPlay Media Studio.
