Newbie template question

This seems to be a very effective forum thanks to knowledgeable moderators. Nice to see.

As a newbie this is probably kind of dumb but as a tech trainer, we always say the really dumb question is the one you don't ask.

I worked with the trail version of Autorun Max for 3 days and noted that after choosing a template, new pages only come up with a blank white background instead of using the template background. I figured maybe I had to have the purchased version so I just purchased biz version now. Still same issue. I could work around it by duplicating the page but that seems awkward.

Why are my new pages not following the template I choose? (btw, I am using the first template, license agreement, which I intend to change to a single main menu with one set of sub-menus).
