Bug Adding multiple files

If I select a folder & add "All files & Subfolders" and click OK -- nothing hapepns.

(suggestion: would be nice to be able to specify a mask here like *.exe)

If I do a drag & drop it appears to work; but if I hit cancel; Most files are now "missing" from view, I can open screens etc.

If I click where a file should be it opens the properties window (see attached)

This is a known issue, you should select a file within the folder and then select ok.

You can specify a mask by typing *.exe into the filename name field and then hitting enter.

Hmm that is interesting. What happens if you press F5 to refresh the view? Do the files come back then?

Well; i did that; combined wth the 1st advice, and it added more than .exe files....

In fact, I eventually got the attached error on multiple files.

It refreshes with a progress dialog (1 of 344... etc) the # of files appears right; but the ones displayed are not.

I would be more than happy to post a flash movie of it.

Yes the mask only effects what is displayed int he dialog, not what is added to Setup Factory. As far as the error you are getting it is happening becuase Setup Factory is trying to determine whether or not it can registry the VC++ dll. Since the Setup Factory 8.0 design uses VC++ internally it encounters issues when trying to load the DLL. The DLL you are attempting to load should probably be in the "Do not scan the following filenames" File preference. If you add the non-debug VC dlls there everything should work.

This is something that we have looked into and will continue to do so.

So the number of files refreshes properly but the display does not? If it's not too difficult a posted flash movie might help.

OK -- so back to my original wishlist -- it'd be nice to beable to say *.exe and "include subfolders"

OK -- it's annoying.. I also got a different error; but I ignored it becuase I thought it was related to the 1st.

http://jassing.com/temp/DragDrop.html 3meg flash video

When you view the video -- note the intial # of files.
I then add all files from e:\temp into it via drag-n-drop.
I add several folders -- and eventually cancel.
Note the screen is not showing the newly added files

I double click on a "file" and it opens the properties.
Likewise, I right click elsewhere & open teh properties for a different file.

As I move the file properties window around, it erases other text -- it does not re-appear.

I hit f5 several time so you can be sure to see the count of the files that are in it...
