How can I abort an install conditionally
Question
How can I abort an install conditionally Answer It is always a good development practice to safeguard your install against as many potential failures as possible by forcing the user to abort the install if certain conditions are not met. In the end this will result in less frustration for the end users and the developers supporting the install. And with Setup Factory, this task could not be easier! Setup Factory contains built-in requirement checking for the following: - Operating System - RAM - Screen dimensions - Color depth - Administrator privileges The install created can either simply warn the user if any of the above conditions are not met and continue, or optionally abort the setup. These settings can be enabled and adjusted by choosing Project > System Requirements. Additionally, the setup can 'expire' either after x number of uses, by date, or both. These settings can be enabled and adjusted by choosing Project > Expiration. For more information please see the following topics in the Setup Factory help file: Program Reference | Project Settings | Requirements Program Reference | Security | Expiration Last edited by Adam; 04-29-2008 at 01:17 PM. |
