.REG file import in visual patch

Hi,

For my project, i need update few registry entries. To do it, I created a .REG file and tried to import it using "import .REG file" option available in visual patch script. But when i do that, it gives me an error message saying "Failed to import REG file, could not identify .REG file format". Can anyone please help me to solve this problme. I have also attched the error mesage i got during .REG file import.

What format (there's at least 3) of the .reg file did you use?
I can confirm that format v 5 (winxp) fails.
maybe an earlier format is supported....

I used the import registry values and that worked...

I am not sure about the version of REG file I am using. Can you please assist me to find out which version I have. I am using WindowsXP

as I stated winxp is v5;
did you try import registry values?

Yeah.. you are right. my registry editor version is 5.1. I tried importing .REG file in Visual patch. but i am getting the same error. I am using Windows XP. I attached the screen shot of error message i got while importing .REG file.

Did you try import registry values???

This is different than import registry.

Import Registry values worked for me.

We all agreed that import of the .reg file failed -- I was mearly making sure you understood my suggestion of importing from the registry...
