Lost my project

My computer crashed so i loaded up an autosaved copy and tried to save it to the same location as the orig project. I then got an error saying it was not possible to copy the files + it wiped the orig folder clean, so i lost everything.

Yeh. I normally back up my files on my 2gb flash drive. But, If you're experienced in File.Copy and stuff, you should make an automated system to back up your files.

Actually, That sounds like a good idea..

I could always make a tool that could back up your project to a folder every so many minutes. Like every 5 minutes It would make a backup.

I've been using the free Karen's Replicator to back up all my AMS files nightly. Seems to work fine for me...

could come in handy, but i work with a lot of files, in a lot of folders generated by many programes, so i would need to backup them all, i might even make a full blown file backup system myself as a commearcal project.

i might soon set a folder to set to back up to a ftp if i remeber how.

I'm sorry that this has happened and you've lost your work. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like there is any way to get it back at this point. Beyond what others have said about backing up frequently, what you should do next time this occurs is copy the auto-saved project back into the original location and then open it up from there, instead of saving it to that location.

Sorry once again for your troubles.
