If you burn a mixed mode CD or a CD Extra, and want to utilize and AUDIO track as a multimedia event, how do you "call it?" In 2.0 specifically. Just using the "Play Multimedia" and inserting the path "%SrcDrv%\thissong.cda" does NOT work, I have tried variations...etc. In fact, when you search the CD it cant even find a CDA..so, therefore, how can you listen an audio track from the same CD AutoPlay in burned onto??

Hi,
What happens when you explore the CD or any audio CD? Do you see a listing of the audio tracks? Also is there a ".CDA" (no quotes) key in your registry? Go: START -> RUN -> regedit. Then look in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT for the ".CDA" key? If it does not exist then I do not think you will be able open the audio files. I was able to do this using 2.0, I am running WIN 2000 and it worked fine. Maybe you will need to install a certain program first?
The real problem here is that you will have to burn a "Mixed Mode" CD, and it might not work on all systems, for example it does not seem to work on yours. Another problem is that the CDA files aren't really "audio files", they are more like track information, i.e. Track01.CDA is not the actual audio of Track 1, it merely contains the information needed to play Track 1.
Maybe you could try including MP3 files and use those?

Well, the cda key is included in there, and isa instructed to bring up the appropriate editor. I still do a search of the CD and find no CDA files...Basically, I am creating a TEST CD that will auto play in a copmputer, run some audio diagnostics, pan, stereo, L/R etc...but can also be put in a standard CD player and played...hmm..I dont know what I could be missing....any other thoughts? BTW, IM running win98 on a 40x CD ROm, 400 Mhz...128MB ram. I dont see nay problem with this system not working! Thanks!

You will probably need a programme like Cool Edit 2000 for conversion from CDA files.

Try with a MP3 file, works better than .cda. You can try MusicMatch to convert .cda to mp3
