TrueUpdate and Multiple Components...
Greetings,
Can a single TrueUpdate process handle a multi-component product, like an Accounting Package (for example) where you have... 1) A Run-Time Engine 2) General Ledger 3) Accounts Payable 4) Accounts Receivable 5) Inventory etc... Where when you "Check For Update" it will find/download/install the updates for "Any" or "All" of the Modules in the list, in a single operation? If so, how much more complex is it to do something like this with this product? Regards, Keith |

Hi kweatherhead,
TrueUpdate 3.0 is a very flexible product that will allow you to do almost anything that you want including updating single or multiple products or pieces of products. How you accomplish this is really dependent on exactly what you want to do and how you plan on implementing things like deciding if a new version is necessary, whether or not you are using a binary patcher like VisualPatch 3.0. The nice thing about the way that TrueUpdate is structured is that once you figure out how you want to update one file or project, duplicating that effort for multiple files or projects is not that difficult. In fact that are even "Update Multiple Document Files" templates available through the project wizard that should help you.
