WINNIPEG, MB – Indigo Rose Software announces the availability of TrueUpdate 3.0, a flexible software development tool that allows programmers to integrate a fully automatic "check for update" feature into applications. Using TrueUpdate, organizations of any size can quickly and efficiently ensure everyone has the most current versions of software releases.

TrueUpdate works by quickly determining if an application is out-of-date. Once a required patch has been identified, the software's client automatically retrieves and applies the update using standard Internet and/or LAN protocols. By easily integrating into applications, TrueUpdate offers nearly unlimited flexibility and customization options. It works with any professional installer or patch builder, including Indigo Rose’s Setup Factory and Visual Patch products. It also works with zip archives and individual data files. The TrueUpdate client executable is compatible with all Windows operating systems including Windows XP and Windows Vista and does not rely on .NET or any other external dependencies.

Features include automatic firewall and proxy server negotiation, silent updating, support for action plug-ins, multilingual projects, a compact and standalone client, themes/skins, a screen gallery, syntax-highlighting and much more. An easy-to-use Project Wizard walks users through the whole process, helping identify file versions, configure patch download locations, build a customized TrueUpdate client and upload the information to the server. The software also incorporates an easy-to-use scripting engine featuring everything from "for, repeat and while" loops, to "if/else" conditions, functions, variables and associative arrays.

Users can also take advantage of a library with more than 250 high-level functions and a step-by-step Action Wizard, which assists with anything from making registry changes and calling DLL functions to executing programs, starting and stopping services, interacting with Web scripts and other advanced tasks.
