SUFWI examples forum heading
when the 'time window' is available I have a cupple of
format suggestions for the 'Examples Section' for this Forum Format Suggestions: 1. Have a separate Section for Dependancy Modules 2. The other for VB,JS scripts and the rest just my 2 bob, tks Ted PS: I have a DirectX 9C-Feb2007 Redist and Winstaller 3.1V1 to V2 'Update Package' to submit for perusal. both Modules have 'Include and 'Download schemas - in line with supplied format for SUFWI. Just to say thanks ! from Eagle My thought on Forum upload Zips is to have the 'Dependancy Modules' zipped with correct Structure ready to Unzip directly to the SUFWI\..\Dependancies\ Folder Last edited by Eagle; 06-07-2007 at 02:28 PM. |

Good ideas, Eagle. We will certainly consider them. On a side note, how was your experience with createing a module? We tried to make sure that the IRMakeBootstrap.chm file was properly and thoroughly documented. But I am too close to it to decide if the docs are sufficient.

Yeah, look I hav'nt gone thru' the entire BStrap help yet,
but from what I've read to get me going, some expansion on creating Custom Modules may be handy. I have a cupple suggestions for 'Edit functionality re Modules but allow me to hold off on that aspect until I'm sure I understand what's there in current release, I've done Raw 'rip' and modify of some of the Module Templates to create the ones mentioned.. tks Brett |

I reckon the Help file in General Covers everything well,
perhaps a mod to the general Layout: separate Heading: Dependancies with reference to functionality - links to examples etc. when first viewing the Help File - I was looking for that but needed to dig a bit further. what might be usefull- specially for those new to Lua and applying supported actions from the action reference: ship an 'example Module' with the Product: -.xml, .lua file(s) for the purpose of learning. Suggestion: for 'Edit' functionality when selecting Modules perhaps for Custom only: One of the first things I was looking for was the ability to 'Open' a referenced Module 'lua' file for raw editing. - same for the loaded .xml 1. Add a file: 'open-edit' button functionality to allow easy open and 'make the changes' to a referenced Lua script file. 2. Feature: action editor functionality - scripting window -insert action - edit parameters. I think the easier it can be made to create-configure BootStrapper supported files the better - as I would predict it would be used often by a lot of Developers because of its power. again , my 2 cents |
