Help...help...help...help...regarding meg size.
Hello! Everyone!
I am using my AutoRun Max...which I love! My problem is this: I have just created a project that has 16 relatively short pages and 26 difference jpg images that have been crunched by over 50%. My project is now showing that it is "73 megabytes" in size!!! eek!!!Same problem using my AutoPlay Studio software. It would only be under 10 megs "if I put the same contents" into an ebook using ebook software. Why is there such a vast diffence in size? This takes way to long for anyone to download from the net and it takes way too long to open once downloaded. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I thought you could put in a lot of pages and images into AutoRun Max without any problem. Hope to hear from someone soon about this...help someone! I MUST be doing something wrong...

What size are the images your putting in the project? You might look at using lower res images to cut down on file sizes,

If you've added a lot of images over time that you aren't using, there could be a lot of "leftovers" hanging around.
Try using the optimizer to trim things down to just what's being used...just choose Tools > Optimize Resources from the program menu and follow the instructions. The application should be pretty small...about a meg or so bigger than the sum of all the content you're using (images, audio, etc.). Are you using any background music? That can add a lot to the size.

To Lorne and Worm:
Hi Lorne!
Well, you were right about the "optomize" feature... I tired it, and shrunk my project down to "39" megabytes. Still too many megabytes considering the number of pages and jpegs. But "optimizing" made a HUGE difference! Didn't realize that I had any files hanging around...I will make this a regular task when creating projects. Thanks! Lorne!...very valuable info... ------------------------------------------- ........and... To: Worm: Still need help! Here is a list of the photos I am using: Jpeg sizes and approximate kbs: Important Note: I have "reduced" the resolution on all of these images and they really have low resolutions and "all" add up together to only about "167 kbs" "TOTAL" as follows: 450 x 600, 27 kbs 450 x 600, 22 kbs 480 x 360, 9 kbs 203 x 146, 5 kbs 300 x 458, 13 kbs 278 x 468, 9 kbs 110 x93, 2 kbs 640 x 480, 24 kbs 274 x 274, 4 kbs 221 x 242, 10 kbs 131 x 200, 4 kbs 275 x 131, 8 kbs 74 x 100, 1 kb 116 x 87, 5 kbs 130 x 128, 3 kbs 600 x 450, 21 kbs 120 x 120, 2 kbs - used on 3 pages. 200 x 154, 7 kbs 187 x 197, 3 kbs 80 x 80, 2 kbs - used on 2 pages. ...and a couple of other small .gif images not amounting to many kbs... There are only 16 pages in my project. For the presentation I am making, I need these images...There is only 1 large image per page, and 1 large and 1 smalll on some other pages, and on some pages there is only 1 small image. All of the images are different except for the duplicating the use of a couple small ones. I really want this program smaller...39 megs is better, but not small enough... there must be something else I can do to it to get the megs down. Sure hope you, or someone, can tell me what else I might be doing wrong. Lyn

To "Worm" regarding music file
Hi! Worm!
oops!!!I forgot to add in the background music file I am using: It is a .ogg file that is 216.50 sec and set to "sequential" and "repeat" I need to use this particular music to match the theme of my project. What do you think about this file added to the 16 pages and the 167 kbs of images in the project..would the project size still be 34 megabytes? Is there a way I can reduce the size of the background music file? Or what can I do to make the project less megs? Hope to hear from you soon...

I want to let everyone here know that:
Adam Kapilik is a genius!!! He has solved my "too large of megabytes per project" The solution is: CHECK YOUR FONTS and make sure they are not too large. Adam told me to go to: C:\Windows\Fonts and there you can check the size of the fonts you plan on using in your project. My project that Adam reviewed for me, went from 30 megs to around 8 megs. THANKS AND A HUG FOR ADAM !!!!
