IR SDK Suggestion

Reading Worm’s thread

Install path for Action Plugins

I thought of something that I think would make a nice addition to the SDK.

Action Plugins can be used by AMS5 Pro, AMS6, SUF7, TU2, and VP2.

Object Plugins can be used by AMS5 Pro, AMS6

What registry keys should we read from to find the path to the base folder, for each of these products?

Any chance of an example SUF7 project that checks the registry for say any/all of the installed IR progams at could use Action Plugins, and list them (with check boxes) for the end user to choose to install to?

How about AMS detection scripts for each of the IR products?

I think that these could make it easier for building an installer for our addons and plugins, especially for those of us who might not yet own every IR app.

While we are on the subject, I have another question. Does IR have any special requests, preferences, disclaimers, etc. for developers to follow, when building addons, or plugins for IR products?

Can I say that my addon is compatible with Indigo Rose’s Autoplay Media Studio versions 6 & 5 Pro? Assuming of course, that it is. Do I need to make sure that I use a trademark symbol? Are there specific limitations, as to how we reference your company or products?

I’m not trying to put you on the spot or anything. I’m not trying to corner or trick you in any way. Actually, it’s sort of the opposite. As a developer of addons for your products, I want to make sure that every part of my addon including the SUF7 installer, is looked on favorably by your company. I just want to know if you have strong feelings that any mention of your product is followed by a certain registration mark, or disclaimer, or any other strong preferences, for us to keep in mind?

I'm just trying to make sure that I'm crossing my tees, and dotting my eyes

I have written some all lua, working detection script, needs a bit
of work with tables stuff and the actual 'install script, lemme know and I'll
post it here for ya, detects plugin supported IR versions, using the registry.

Also have a SUF 7 prject, the script populates a check box screen,
install routine not done...
