Table of Contents/ Project Map
I am just digging into 6.0...
![]() I am going to produce my own company multimedia promotional piece that could end up being 100+ pages...I would like to have an easy-to-use site map on everypage somewhere somewhat similar to my website NSM The site map on my site is a basic script that updates itself based on my design heirechy (sp?). What would be the easiest way to do this in 6.0? TIA! -Robert PS...a big shout out to the gang....been busy all summer....

No I think it might be doable, I'm just not exactly sure the best way. Lorne and them guys have a much better grasp of the file structure than me. Seems to me that AutoPlay Projects are XML and therefore completely categorizable (if that's a word) but you just have to figure out the logisitics and it's a bit above my head. I think the main difference will be whether you need to create a map for an app which will change at runtime, or one which is static at runtime in terms of structure. If your app has a static map structure at runtime then that means you can create the map prior to build, and I believe that would be much easier to pull of than a dynamic system. In other words all you need to do is create a tool which parses the XML of your project file and maps it out in a formatted manner, approriate for your application.
I would say it's highly doable for anyone who has a bit of XML knowledge. Unfortunately my XML is the pits. As for summer, yes it was awesome. We got *tons* of stuff done here and I still managed to pack in lots of skateboarding without breaking anything important. I call that a success. Had a few close calls with some overzealous anti-skateboarders but nothing major.

Yeah, the random subway maniac who punched me because he hates skateboarders. That wasn't nearly as fun nor exciting though frankly.
![]() One good thing which came out of it is that it made me realize how much I dislike violence. I figure it's all karmic anyhow, no doubt that slug was payback for something mean I did to someone in grade school. It all evens out in the end. ![]() I do feel bad about the general attitude toward skateboarders though. It's unfortunate, because skateboarding seriously rocks and the majority of skateboarders are OK people.

You're a good man Intrigued.
![]() One other super cool thing which happened this summer. I coined a term! "Donairium" refers to any non-franchise fast food restaurant operated by a lone, shifty looking guy wearing an even shiftier looking apron. I stopped in a Donairium the other day for a bottle water and the guy's apron looked like he'd just finished up doing an oil change on an passenger jet. Mind you I shouldn't tease, if the price of oil keeps up that apron is going to be a millionaire. |
