Setup Factory is an excellent program, but will be very better if:
1. Add a Registry.Rename() function for renaming a registry key or value without hard coding.
2. Add a Registry.CopyAs() function for backing up a registry key or value on another place of registry.
3. Add a...
I would like knowing as I can place several options of installation in the same setup, Thank you.
I've searched the SUF7 discussion multiple times, but I do not find an answer to the following question:
Is it possible, to build (only) ONE setup.exe with the possibility, to reentry in the installation after a 'System.Reboot(), i.e.:
- uninstall (old) driver which forces a...
i have to give a line break(new line character) in command prompt.
I have given like this
result = File.Run("cmd.exe", "sqlplus \n san/san@san \n create user ner identified by ner", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\san", SW_SHOWNORMAL, true);
I need rename a registry key without losing its sub keys. Is anyway for doing this work by Setup Factory 7.0? For example, Can I rename to without losing subkeys?
As you know, some programs return a value after running. What should I do to return this value to SF7 when run with File.Run() function?
I can't figure out how to avoid errors in my log file which are generated by the HTTP.Download() function if it's run in a silent mode. When the function is run in a silent mode, i don't pass CallbackFunction parameter (nil value), but it still generates the following errors:
What should I do if I want to send 2 arguments to a program in SetupFactory 7.0. For example, what is the right code for running the following script:
regedit -s test.reg
I try many many sample codes (e.g. File.Run("regedit.exe", "\"-s\"".." ".."\"test.reg\""),...
I am trying to make the code below work. I have tried various combinations of escapes with no luck. I assume I am missing something simple but I am at wit's end.
This code does not work but at least it is colored correctly.
I'm aware that Indigo's built-in functions support optional parameters (e.g. HTTP.Download())
Is it possible to define optional parameters in a custom function? For example
function MyFunction(Param1, Param2, OptionalParam3 = nil)
I am using DLL.CallFunction on a .NET assembly that I created with VS2005 with C#. I add that assembly in the primer files and then I simply call one of its static functions. The assembly is COM visible (by checking the "make assembly COM-Visible" option in VS). :huh
I always get the...
I am evaluating the "classic" setup factory, and using the demo version.
I have been playing with it since yesterday, and I was wondering how to hide folders and files once they have been installed.
I made the installer to make a folder called c:\test123\ and a file inside it...
If a user has already installed our software, I am able to read the serial number value from the registry using an action.
However, I am having trouble loading this value as the "default text" property so it pre-fills the serial number field (as a convenience so they do not have to...
I've pretty much finished my installer now (I've enjoyed using SF for creating this installer) and now I'm adding previous installation detection...
I'm wondering if it's been covered here somewhere how to create the typical installers that startup with the "3-radio button" GUI that offers the...
I have two questions:
1. I want to check every time my application starts that the serial entered (and lets say stored in the registry during installation) is correct. Does SUF have a SDk or a dll that I can use to validate the stored serial by calling the dll file and passing the serial every...

What we would like to do:

In Setup Factory 7.0 the default location for the Uninstall .exe is a sub-folder of the Windows folder.
Is there any reason why I shouldn't change that to the Application folder?
I don't know if this post belongs in here or in add ons, but I was wondering if there is a way in SUF 7.0 to make a cd launch automatically or if there is a plug in or add on that will accomplish this.
I am a new user to Setup Factory 184.108.40.206, on my Windows Vista computer, I have a couple questions to ask.
