to have an "On Show" action that connects to a specified web address without opening a web browser?? If there is a way can some one please let me know, thanks.

What needs to happen when it "connects"?

It just needs to register a hit to a webpage.

Then...yep, that's a can do.

Just drop a web obeject onto your AMS page, put in the web page address it needs to hit, then go to the attributes tab of the web object and un-check "Visible".
