I am planning to put about 300-500 "pdf" and "excel" files on a cdrom. I want to put a menu with a "search dialogue box" that when you type the filename, the program will search for that particular file name on the cdrom.
Is this possible with this program?

It is possible to search for files on the CD. This facility is typically used to determine the presence of something like Acrobat Reader on a user's machine. What do you want the menu to do once it has found a file? Will the user know the name of a file to search for?

Not what I want to happen. I will distribute this cd to clients. They shold be able to search at anytime files that they want to find. If AMS should find that file - it will display a link to that file that the user can click to open.
This CD will contain hundreds of PDF files. I want to make it easy for the user to find those files.
The search is not to find a particular program/exe.
Hope what I want is possible or AMS will not be of use for me.
Thanks!
Francis

I have just produced a menu that will invite the user to search for a file. If it finds the file it will display some text confirming that it has found the file. It will also display a button, and it will ask the user to click on the button to view the file. This interacton can be made as complex or as simple as required.
I can email the AM3 file to you if you wish.

Francis,
I have tried to email you at the given address but it is rejected with the following message:

Do you have another email address that I can use? Perhaps IndigoRose have a means for me to post the menu on the support forum site?
Regards
Andrew

When dong a search using the Get Info and Search for file, A dialogue box appears for you to type what you want to search for, PROBLEM: When I press cancel on the search/GetInfo box it does a search anyway.
So what I want to know is what would I need to do in order for it "NOT" to search when I press "cancel"
Hope you can help.
