AMS5 Autorun prevents flash sound - would Audio Stop - Channel All work?

If you view the 'Flash Weirdness' thread, you can see my struggle to figure this out. Here is what I do know -

If I shut down the Autorun AMS5 window, the FLASH sound will work. It seems like the AMS5 window is preventing the Audio from the FLASH player from working - I don't know why. I don't understand it.

I am going to try - STOP AUDIO - ALL CHANNELS. I am going to have this run from all the pages to see if this will solve the problem. Any new suggestion in the light of the information I have provided would be appreciated. I have only the rest of Sunday to figure this thing out.

Well, that didn't work. Tried turning off the audio channels to see what would happen. Same thing, no audio with Flash. When the AMS autorun window is close, audio comes back in.

I think I am going to go back to AMS3 and try the project on there - and look at some other Autorun software and see where the problem lies.

Have you tried putting in and calling from the CDROOT directory of AMS 5 the projector (Flash .exe) file?

You go up one level above the Docs directory.

Haven't tried that. I just finished re-doing the entire project in AMS3 - going to burn and see what happens - heck it only been 10 or so CD's, what could another few hurt?
I have tried out the old CD's on a friend's computer (now that is 3 different computers) and they do not have sound.

I will try the CD root folder and see what happens if the AMS3 doesn't work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Here is a very simple, small project that loads a Flash .exe file and plays the music (.mp3).

Am I understand correctly what you are running into?

If it is.. then upon clicking the Play Music... button, music should start playing (like 2 minutes of it). Do you hear the music?

Also, I have tried this with other applications I have on a CD-R, but not with AMS 5 specifically.

STEP 1

When testing you could build your project to Hard Drive Folder and then burn that to the cd (contents of such). I recommend Nero or Easy CD Creator. But, if you have another burning software application... then use that.

Then when ready for the second test, etc., repeat STEP 1

You would have to read my post way back to Flash Weirdness to get it. I appreciate your concern, but I can't get into again and again. I am getting tired of it as I am sure many members are : suffice to say, I got it to work - BUT in AMS3. I don't think I will be using AMS5 for many project with a major bug like this. I would love to use alot of FLASH in my projects, but I can't with the restrictions on sound - so AMS3 it has got to be.

PS - I did the exact same thing in AMS3 as in AMS5. The only difference I can figure is that the CD root is the directory with all the necessary flash/music files whereas in AMS5, they are placed in specific directories. But I am not going to waste more CD's to find out if it would work putting all the files in the Root director in AMS5.

Glad to hear you got a resolution.

If you did not try that application out... it worked for me. In another words... the Flash .exe file played the .mp3 file.

I don't think I will be using AMS5 for many project with a major bug like this.

Hard words (and frightening if true)! Intrigued's example worked well for me.

Are you sure this is not a finger tip bug? Is the File.Run path what it has to be? Have you tried Rght click|Insert|File Reference?

Intriued's example worked fine for me as did a very similar one that I created to try to replicate David's problem.

May I suggest that when the dust has settled you recreate a small example David which exhibits the problem you've had so we can see exactly what has been happening.

Having been in similar situations myself, I know that as time presses harder, so it becomes more difficult to problem solve. If I were you I wouldn't be able to rest until I had found out :) .

CSD214 - David has said that when his app is running the flash projector is silent. If he runs his app and opens a projector from within AMS then closes AMS before the projector has finished loading, he gets sound. That would say to me that the paths are OK - wouldn't load otherwise.

As a side issue to David's problem. Instead of burning CDs after CDs, I am using the attached program (small and free) which maps a virtual drive. Ithen move the published project to the "root" of this drive and Right-Click on the drive and choose Autoplay. A perfect (albeit faster) virtual CD.
