I need a little help. I have created a CD using AMS5 Pro and am using an AVI file created with camtasia recorder. It plays fine on a computer with AMS installed (maybe it's the camtasia installation that is making the difference), but when I take it to another computer it will not play. What do I need to do?
Do I need to install a codec or something?
Appreciate the help.
Also, I am reviewing the instructional CD's made by Corey. They are well done and very helpful. Thanks for making these available to us.

I don't know much about camtasia, but I do have many videos in my projects and I use wmv files. There are many reasons why it could not play. Have you played the avi on the other machine standalone?. Is this video something you can ftp to me to try?

A useful addition to any system is Gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html) which will give you information about the video/audio codecs used in an avi.

Shawn,
Thanks for your willingness to help out. I fixed the problem. I thought it most likely was a codec issue so I went to Camtasia's website and download the camtasia player codec. Once I installed it on the users computer everything work fine. Appreciate your help.

You can read more about this subject in this (http://www.indigorose.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8606&highlight=camtasia) thread.

Dan,
Camtasia can also output to flash (among other formats). Then you can be (almost) sure you won't have a codec problem.
