Password help please

Hi all, I have a little app which is run in kiosk mode with disabled exit unless a key combination is used but upon the correct key combination I have poped up a password box but how do I set a password and get the profram to verify if it is correct?

I am still having problems though because the prompt seems to run on startup too and I do not know why.
