Ok let's see who can guess this for fun. This is a neat old familiar sounding tune with an elusive title which makes most people go, "Heyyyyy, what is thaaaaaat, sounds familiar..." I just did it as a quick throw down in my multitrack, three quick guitar tracks nothing else. It's from a famous movie, in fact one of my all time favorites. A very cool movie. Anyhoo here's the music:

Personally I have no idea, it seemed vaguely familiar but I could just be telling myself that.

It's from the movie Midnight Express and is composed by Giorgio Moroder.

It came to me just a few notes into it but i wasn't 100% sure until the 'other bit' started.

Well played too, Corey :)

What else you got up your sleeve?

Bingo! We have a winner. "The Chase" by Giorgio Moroder from Midnight Express. What a cool movie, and the music is just other worldly. I love the heartbeat pulse of The Chase. I'd love to buy Giorgio a beer, that guy must be interesting. My sleeve contains more arcane stuff, next week I'll post another weird one. Maybe I'll make it a tradition for the summer to post a guess clip each week. I'm surprised this one got nailed so quick though, my hat goes off to you Derek. :)

Giorgio Moroder - Midnight Express! You were right Corey, right on the tip of my tongue. His music in Al Pacino's "Scarface" was excellent as well. Maybe a rendition of that with your talent? Then again, it may be hard pressed to reproduce that on a guitar, but you never know. Show us what you got :)

It's never an issue of difficulty. I worked out a new picking technique this year which leaves me able to play pretty much any piece of music on earth difficulty-wise. Time is the issue. Man if I had unlimited time I'd play and record 14 hours per day. :)

Incidentally for any guitar players, the new technique I speak of is nothing short of revolutionary. Take a Herco hybrid pick by Jim Dunlop (Heavy Gauge) and then, using some sort of tiny tools (i.e. Dremel, Xacto and sandpaper, small file) modify it so that it retains the profile of your old flat pick relative to your thumb. That's it. Immediately you will be playing about twice as good as you used to. Overnight. And best of all, this is the only picking technique on earth which will allow you to use any right hand style freely without having to devise any tricks or "hide-the-pick" style hand movements. (Sweep, alternate, hybrid, fingerstyle, tapping, thumb tap/pop, pinch harmonics, thumb harmonics, or any other style ) It truly changed my life, can't say enough good things about this, I've been playing for a few decades now and I've tried everything out there (every single hotlicks guitar vid, etc.) and this is the largest single revelation I've ever had... My brain is still catching up with all the new stuff my right hand can do. :)

Well Corey, if you're aware of the music I'm speaking of and you can recreate it on your guitar, then I'd like a copy of it and I'd also like to include it in my (home) collection. That's one of the things I like; renditions of different types of music. Especially instrumental. Sometimes it's great. Other times, :rolleyes I do believe that "Tony's Theme" and "Elvira's Theme" from the aforementioned post would sound awesome if done correctly. Not challenging you, just hopeful feedback (when you get time of course).
