Man those talking banners are irritating.

An alternate (no talking banner) link to the same story which also points out that the journalist behind the story is a long time believer in UFOs:

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4955164/

Anyhow, some guy on Art Bell the other day says that "Russia is about to make a huge announcement about UFOs" he said to, "Watch the news". According to him some major UFO related catastrophe is about to happen and the Russians are the only government who see their citizens welfare as more important than information secrecy.

I'm on the fence. Obviously there's life out there somewhere, this is 100% guaranteed. I'm just not sure how appealing earth is to someone who has options. :)

Also I'm not sure about the detail that it "disappeared" into clouds, shouldn't infrared/radar be relatively unaffected by normal clouds? I mean as far as I know there would be no such effect with infrared since it can "see through"(http://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu/cosmic_kids/learn_sirtf/infrared.html) even large dust clouds. Seems odd.

Also the quote in that article, "The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds." is obviously completely inaccurate, particulary when applied to the armed forces of Mexico who have a long and illustrious, well documented history of perpetrating a wide variety of fraudulent activities and claims all the way from the the very petty to the very grandiose, ever since their inception. Let's just say when I think "Impeccable credibilty" that the title "Mexican General" doesn't exactly pop instantly into view. :) They should have left that line out.

Pretty cool stuff, thanks for the link Derek. I wish they'd just land, I can hardly wait to hear some alien music, I bet it's awesome.

Corey, you crack me up. I wish they would land as well, but maybe the don't want to send us out into space to spread like we have on our own planet. The industrial revolution caused us to convert to a consumer based market and spread out massively across the planet, and that happend in just a couple of centuries.

If there is another intelligent life out there that has realized space travel and technologies greater than ours, maybe they don't want to release us upon the rest of the galaxy.

With the number of suns and galaxies that exist, I believe that intelligent life has to exist somewhere. Maybe that is due to my cheery disposition, optimistic outlook or too much reading of SciFi books. Some rather interesting ones on the subject of other intelligent life are "Across Real Time", "Mote in God's Eye", "Stranger in a Strange Land", and just for the fun of it "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I hope that I am around when they decide to make that first contact.

If they are intelligent, they'll land here because I've got a big backyard with a firepit and everything. I wouldn't rat them out either, they could come hang here and just be cool. I'd never tell a soul. :)

I'm pretty sure if they're intelligent they won't pin any of that other stuff on me.

As long as you invite me up when they come, I bring the stuff for Smores. And you better send them away with IR Toques.

Yes I would. I would view myself as a tour guide and I would endeavor to share with them the very coolest aspects of our society and the Canadian Experience. Toques are vital to that. I would also immediately advise them to download and install the free trial version of AutoPlay Media Studio and try to get them to show me their equivalent of Photoshop. :)

You guys are all wrong! They have landed, I work with a bunch of them and, they aren't that intelligent. We call them bureaucrats and you can't trust them one bit.

Speaking of smores, you've got to try them with the flavoured/colored marshmallows. They taste FREAKING AMAZING once they're melted, man. Waaaaaay better than the plain marshmallow smores. Greys just love 'em...they love everything colored, in fact; which is why you always see them wearing those old tie-dye t-shirts they scooped up in the '60s. Can't blame them, really, since all they've had to look at for the whole trip out here is each others' grey backsides.

Last time we had the multi-color smores, the Greys went straight to the local Zellers and bought every last bag, I kid you not.

There's actually an existing theory out there that says the reason obesity in humans is so high is because the Greys made it that way, and that they are simply fattening us up, presumably for harvest. I don't buy into it, too extravangant/inefficient an investment for such a small yield...

More than anything I'd like to hear some Grey music... I bet it sounds like whales.
