This is pretty cool, a new compilation out of Vansterdam which takes cool old rock tunes and modernizes them in a techy way. If you don't like synths, you won't like it. If you do, you can hear MP3s from all the tracks at ProSoul's site:

Cool thing is the resurfacing of Darryl Kromm (Does a great job of Bowie's "Fame") who was the singer for Strange Advance ("Worlds Away", "We Run", "She Controls Me") which was a very decent Canadian band who fell right off the map after having worked with some of the world's top producers. He's been MIA since Strange Advance, just feeding off obscure production gigs, etc. It's been about 20 years since he did anything like this. So that's cool I thought. Once thing about Kromm, he has one of the most "in tune" voices I've heard on the rock scene, he's just one of those guys who can't sing out of tune even if they try. He's got a real original approach too.
Prosoul gets 5 thumb up. :yes :yes :yes :yes :yes
