Hello,

I built a project with 100 pages and circa 120 MB. On these pages are primarily buttons (link to a file) and an background image.
My problem is that the CD work very slow in a PC with 300 MHZ and 128 MB RAM. In an other PC with 500 MHZ and 128 MB it works normally.

Can i optimize the CD that it works faster?

Thank you

What version of the software are you using? AutoPlay Media Studio can handle gigantic projects just as easily as small projects and the speed is generally consistent across pages. While the system is question is is indeed a slow system, you'll need to give us more details in order to help you out.

Okay ;-)
I work with AMS 5.0!
In my firm are all PCīs very slow (min 300 MHZ with 64 Ram / max 1GHz with 128 RAM) only the operator have the fastest PC ("2GHz 256RAM) but he doesnīt need the CD ;-) !
Last week i have finished the project and test it in the firm.
well , now run the cd very slow in the old PCīs and i search a possibility to make it faster. The slowness is primarily on the start and jump to other pages. When i open a file is it okay.

On the pages are only buttons and a background image. The buttons open files in *.pdf or linking other pages.

IS that okay? :-)

P.S. My english is not so good :D

A couple of things:
what are the dimensions (and resolution) of the images? need to be 72DPI and dimension of screen
What if you copy the whole project to your HD, does it run as slowly or faster? Thus you can locate the problem (project, CD Drive, Video card driver etc..)

Also, make sure you are using v5.0.0.4. There were some significant startup speed enhancements made in that version. You won't notice them in the trial version, but they are part of the full commercial version.

If speed is a concern on slower machines then also make sure that you are not using page transitions as these will slow down the app slightly.

- What OS are these trouble machines running?
- What happens if you copy your project to the hard drive of these systems? Does it run faster? Old PCs often have old CD-ROM drives that are not running very good so the data transfer rate can take a big hit.

At first, thanks for your reply.

The image has 20 kb (an AMS5 image = 630B1307)and run in 800x600. I donīt think that is a problem from the video card. I think it is a CPU speed problem becaus i have copy the CD on hdd and it is nothing happen. itīs so slow how before.
The OS is win98 on all machines where it works so slow. I build it with 5.0.0.1 .
I think i will set the system requirements to 500 MHz and than it is okay.

But, iīm interested on suggestions to fix that problem ;-)

If you're running 5.0.0.1, then you're running a old version. Update to 5.0.0.4 before doing anything else.

If you're having problems with that, open a support ticket with your serial number. Make sure you include a phone number so we can contact you with further questions.
