What i would like to do is be able to click on a button to open and show and image. (which i have already done) and then i would like to be able to change the image size and save it back to the hardisk. What i plan on doing is have this image saved back as the same size everytime but am not sure this is possible or not? can any help or give me an example file i can work with?

AMS doesn't have image file editing built in per se but if you use a freeware command line utility such as http://www.irfanview.com then sure, you can do that (and much more) no problem just by feeding the utility command line parameters from AMS.

would this be opening the program separetly from my project or using a .dll call or something to convert inside the project and what kinda code am i looking to use to call up this operation?

Not if you don't want to, here's some options for irfanview:

There are other programs which can do that too, silently or not, your choice. For example you can launch a slideshow in irfanview so in certain instances, you might want it to show. Anyhoo. I'm sure there are also .dlls to resize images. I'm not a programmer so I can't say for sure.

hehe, im FAR from a programmer myself...i dont want a bunch of crazy options im just trying to create a very simple program that allows me to open a image file and resize it and then save it...thats all i really need done. As you can tell im a newbie to all this so im not familiar with command lines all that much or how to integrate them into autoplay. i just want to be able to resize and save...

Hi. Sorry, there's no native functionality for resizing images in AMS 5.0. Perhaps in a future version. That being said, it's not as hard as one might think to pass a command line parameter, so if it gets crucial you can always explore that option... Maybe one of the other users can shine some light on other options. :)

Corey...

The imageSizer.apz link (in the link you posted) is spitting back some form of cryptic code, instead of the .apz project file. Can you verify this? (or anyone one else).

Thank you.

Works fine here, try right click, save target as. That should work fine...

Maybe this other project I have on www.amsuser.com will help?

Thanks, i will take a look.
basically all i am after is an easy way to let my visitors resize images, i would like them to be able to select images from their pc and resize them to 600x400 for example.

i have found software that will do just fine but its always nice to have a branded solution.
the page in question is here :
http://www.devonizer.co.uk/media.php
i plan on also suppling a download to resize images on this page.

a great little program i have found is : www.easyimagesoftware.com
and is just what i am after, however a branded free solution would be better for me.

I have already supplied a couple of simple apps one being on this page : http://www.devonizer.co.uk/availability.php

If anyone can supply a program for loading an image, sellecting a set size and re-saving the jpg image it would be great.

but again thanks for the link info, its getting me there.

Kind regards
Carl

p.s. just come back from a wedding so a little bit merry :)
