Hi. Works fine here... Try pressing F5 if you get an error page or re-clicking the link...

Thank you. I will check my 'end' again.

Seems that is the only link I am not able to access through I.R.'s services.

Does it take some lower security settings or some other unknown variable I need to compensate for?

Not as far as I know... It's built by a third party Kayako, so I can't be 100% sure but I doubt it.

I also just tried two different browsers and the same results appear.

If/when I find a solution, I will update this thread. In case anyone else encounters this situation.

The oddity is that I had been using the Knowledge Base all along. Today is the first time I have seen this problem manifest itself.

Thank you again for your quick feedback.

Does anyone have a good link for the FTP Plug-in, as far as examples that comes with the documentation? For some reason my computer here is not loading up such documentation. Or is there a solution that I can implement (other than reinstall the plug-in and the template) to correct this situation?

Thank you.

Hi, you mean this:

http://www.indigorose.com/files/route_ams50addons.php?pid=ftp

SUF6 is right, it's possible it might be DNS monkey business on your ISP. Although that would be rare, I have actually experienced that myself, once Google was down all day, and it was due purely to my ISP. Their official response, and I quote, "We are monkeys."

No, actually the documentation that seems to be 'injected' into the help file in AMS 5.0.0.4 (Pro in this example) that I have.

It no longer will show up when I am in the Action Script editor and click the Help button.

I miss that. Now it goes to some not in use C:/some/directory/here area of my H.D.

It seems to have gotten corrupt some how. The actually documentation for the plug-in.

Can you post the Help quasi-database-help file here? Or is that intertwined with the plug-in?

Thank you.

Could you be having a browser problem? What browser are you using?

Intrigued

I use MyIE2 09.18.20 and Internet Explorer 6.0

Windows XP Home Ed. w/ SP2 RC1.

Side note: I tried reinstalling the FTP PLUG-IN and that did not correct the lack of the link to the documenation for such.

[Late Edit]

I am going to update the MyIE2 browser. Ironically it popped up an 'update' dialog box just a few seconds ago. Talk about funky timing.

I also reinstalled AMS 5 (Pro) over the previous installation. That shortcut did not fix the documentation 'bad link' problem either.

Thank you all for your help nontheless.

SP2 RC1 is still very BETA..

If you want a stable system...get rid of it quick..

Time for an Os reinstall , prevous threads of yours have
indicated to me that your Os is no longer stable.

Sorry to be perdantic about this, but you could not possibly
expect all installed software to operate as expected...

kindest regards
MTN

Hi SUF6. I see only one light area and that is the rightmost pane on the front page, which is still readable. (I have my brightness cranked to 100 right now and it's readable, so...)

Anyhow the ultr alow contrast is intentional. Try placing a screencap of that into Photoshop and then darkening that text and you will see what I mean. Same goes for the grey buttons, if you darken them, you'll see what happens to the page. The last thing I wanted was to give equal emphasis to the Update patch button and our core message... Thanks for the note nonetheless.

If you found the site unusable please let me know what information you were unable to access.

Well, RC1 is post-beta and stands for Release Candidate 1.

Well to be forth coming I do a lot of hardware and software 'teching' and I find that the RC1 release to be very stable. I can not pin one problem, nor have any apparent problems come about either on internal LANs I am apart of at the 'shop' or at home on multiple systems, including one wirelessly connected to my home network.

There have been updates for RC1 and I have received those via way of the new (verion 5) update service that have in place.

But, any suggestions are appreciated and taken into consideration when exploring for a successful outcome.

Thank you SUF6.

Indirect success at last:

Here is the 'local' link that is suppose to happen when I click on the help button in the action editor when I am 'over' a FTP plug-in line of code (by the action portion):

file:///C:/Program%20Files/AutoPlay%20Media%20Studio%205.0%20Professional/Plugins/Actions/FTP/FTP.htm

I found that the only working link (on this system) is in the About Plug-in dialog box.

Go figure.

At least it got me to the file and I will be making a Macro Express link to that bugger, but quick.

Thank you all for your extremely, blistering fast support. It may not have revealed directly the solution that was acceptible to me but it did get me thinking. And that is something my wife has tried to do for years. (grin)

Again, thank you Corey and SUF6. for your help and support.

She is my best friend and I appreciate her every day, for all that she does and puts up with from me. I only wish for others to find a partner that is so trust worthy, loyal, and giving. It just makes life that more enjoyable.

O.T. but then life is full of O.T. matter then isn't it. (grin)

Again, thank you for your help. I need to get back to this 'back end' application. I have a self inflicted deadline on such.

Corey, the forum looks great by the way. I appreciate the amount of time you put into keep I.R. content looking 'fresh'. I felt that should be said as we all surely appreciate some justly (word?) deserved positive feedback from time to time.

Credit actually goes to Ted for all that stuff. Ted installed the new forum singlehandely despite a childhood yoyo injury, cold coffee, and MTV. I don't think "hero" would be too strong a word, Joe Namath's got nothing on Ted. I'll gladly join you in thanking him for that, I doubt I could have pulled it off without going quite mad and, eventually, running amok and/or break dancing.

First off...

Credit actually goes to Ted for all that stuff.
Ted... then thank you!

Well, shortly after I tried to correct the 'missing link' situation (to the FTP Plug-in problem)... I ran into a new setback.

What is happening is that when I try to click on a link in a project using the FTP Plug-in I get the following error:

CiceroUIWndFrame: AutoRun.exe - Application Error

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;278927

That link talks about the application (applet) that seems to be apart of the problem.

After I 'googled' for answers on this one I found that this particular error has something to do with Windows Office XP. Recommendations I have seen lay out a set of instructions. The problem is... I no longer have that suite of software even installed in this machine. So, if anyone has ideas on this new situation please speak out.

Thank you in advance for any help, ideas, or recommendations you all here may put forth.

Yes, I believe I do need to open a ticket. Though I am not getting the exact same error... the FTP plug-in running on Windows XP Pro (laptop) is giving me problems (error >> then crashes the .exe).

Thank you.

Problem Solved!

What was it?

It came down to a complete oversite on my part. (frown)

Inside my code base for the FTP plug-in related portion of a current application I am coding had this line of code:

FTP.SetTransferType(FTP.AUTO)

is should be...

FTP.SetTransferType(FTP.ASCII)

I am not to proud that I spent several hours mauling over my code to learn that it was just one line of code that was to blame (Note: dump blame on your code, it can't defend itself, (grin))

However, I may not be proud, but I will surely remember to use '.ASCII' mode next time! (grin)

ps. I want to thank all of you that offered assistance on this one. Wether corporate side or here in the forums!

I must admit.. there is something gratifying about finally getting to a workable solution on a problem.

By the way, the FTP Plug-in surely should be in every AMS 5 (Pro, Deluxe) developer's 'toolbox'. Even though I was 'grand fathered' in; I believe that it is definitely one plug-in well worth purchasing.

The latest use I have thrust upon it is to backup a simple database. I like that you can set the port(s) (data, control). I can even take advantage of the ability to >> 128 S.S.L. and even command line arguments like 'chmod' on the Linux boxes.

Thank you again.
