RE: AMS 5.0: Hey everyone, i have read and re-read the postings here and also on the indezine.com site and that site only has a tutorial for Powerpoint 2003.
i am working with PP 2000 and PPViewr 97 as many of our prospective clients will have those [not WinXP or Office 2003] and my PP files i am putting onto the VCd are from PP2000.
putting the action on a button as just "file.run" for a PPpres has my resident powerpoint 2000 program come up and then it loads the file like i was clicking onto to it from Windows Explorer. i have to then know to click on the viewer icon at the bottom to get it to forward the slides. So, i am assuming if my prospectives dont have Ppowerpoint an error message will occur.
Just using the PPviewer 97 separately [NOT thru AMS 5.0], it has a "open file" window come up and present the PPresentation as a full screen, which is what i want. [however, will it open up like that in AMS or will it go directly to a full-screen mode and start with the first slide of the targetd PPpres?]
for a testing on a second button, I first did it liek teh indezine article: I entered "on click":
File.Run "pptview.exe"
that's the file that is on my hard drive in the folder where i first downloaded it. [and as it shows on that article] Then I put in the Arg line as the indezine.com article showed. Used "xxx.ppt" before and after the file name.
BUT>>>> when i page previewed, i got an error message saying it "couldnt find PPIntlv.ddl - Please run Powerpoint Setup". [perhaps the page preview doesnt allow for building everything and then loading it properly????]
i KNOW there's a way to do this without me having to go to my boss and ask for newer programs.... that's like pulling my own eye teeth out and then him yelling at me.... he want all this neat techno-stuff but doesnt want to pay a dime for it.... yes, i need a new job and as soon as this project is done, that's exactly what i intend to do. <another sigh, then smile>
Gosh, i've just re-read my post, and he**, i've confused myself.... well, hope you gurus out there can peer past my ramblings and help me out!
thanks in advance, y'all.
